Post-Treatment and Recovery
One of the wonderful things about LASIK is the relatively quick recovery time. Some general medical procedures or surgeries can take weeks, if not months, to recover. However, with LASIK, many patients can drive to work the next day after treatment.
After the LASIK procedure, patients can see but images may appear slightly blurry and the eyes need to rest. Patients will need someone to drive them home and it is strongly recommended that they rest for the remainder of the day. However, the next morning many patients can see a dramatic difference in their vision, allowing them to return to natural daily activity like driving and work.
The process is different, and longer, for the PRK procedure. PRK is a slightly different procedure which has a more complex healing process. For more information about the PRK procedure and recovery process, please contact and we will be happy to explain in detail.
Our medical staffs are committed to your total LASIK experience – from first exam to after treatment. We monitor you after treatment to ensure you stay on a healthy and appropriate healing tract, all for no additional cost.
The Joffe vision team will schedule multiple post-treatment exams at our vision clinic. At these exams, our Optometrist will examine your vision and analyze different parts of your eye to confirm that there are absolutely no issues with your recovery.
