Top of the Line LASIK Diagnostic Technology
At Joffe Custom LASIK, we are committed to providing safe and effective technology to every patient. Additionally, we want to educate our patients about LASIK, the process and our technology so they feel comfortable in taking the next step with Custom LASIK.
Excimer Laser Technology
In the LASIK industry, excimer laser technology is a very important part of providing excellent outcomes through LASIK eye surgery. Every eye is unique, often as complex and unique as the human finger print. In order to account for that uniqueness, Joffe Custom LASIK has invested in a variety of excimer laser platforms from names in the eye care industry that you know and trust, such as Alcon and Bausch & Lomb.
We are proud to offer both the Bausch & Lomb Zyoptix custom wavefront treatment and Alcon WaveLight® Allegretto Wave® Eye-Q Laser. The Allegretto Wave provides advanced eye tracking, thermal optimized laser distribution and precise centration. In the experienced hands of the Joffe LASIK doctors, the state-of-the-art laser equipment used at Joffe offers a unique combination of excellence in patient care and visual outcomes, reliability and safety.
It is no surprise that Food and Drug Administration (FDA) studies show that Custom Wavefront LASIK may produce even better vision than is possible with contact lenses or glasses. Some FDA trials showed that more than 70% of custom LASIK patients saw better than 20/20, with the majority of patients who had custom LASIK finding their night vision to be better after the procedure than it was with their glasses or contact lenses.
Femtosecond Laser Technology
Femtosecond laser technology is option for All-Laser LASIK at Joffe. The femtosecond laser is specifically used within the first step of the LASIK process; creating the corneal flap.
When using this technology, your Joffe LASIK specialist will apply the Ziemer Femto LDV laser to the outer layers of the cornea. The energy from femtosecond laser will create tiny bubbles within the top layers of the cornea that create separation and “lift”. This separation then allows your Joffe specialist to create your corneal flap and proceed to the second phase of the procedure.
The treatment technique utilizing femtosecond technology is commonly referred to as All-Laser LASIK. During your free LASIK exam, our medical professionals will do a thorough evaluation of your eye and determine if All-Lasik LASIK is right for you.
During your free LASIK exam, we will use advanced diagnostic testing, including the Orbscan and Custom Wavefront analyzers, to measure thousands of separate data points of the cornea, create three-dimensional maps of your corneal structure, and carefully analyze the way light travels through your eye. This ensures that we have the critical data we need about your eye and your vision to determine if you are a good candidate for laser vision correction.
Once you reach treatment, you will have peace of mind knowing that we use advanced excimer laser technology, including Custom Wavefront for no additional charge. With Custom Wavefront LASIK our doctors are able to customize the treatment to your individual eyes, giving you the most custom treatment plan possible.
